Strawberries
&Cream
Pastries
Soft, creamy, & perfectly flaky, these strawberries & cream pastries are the most delightful treat to share with your loved ones. This recipe uses just 4 simple ingredients, fresh strawberries, maple syrup for added natural sweetness, cream cheese filling, and puff pastry. I got inspired by the original strawberries & cream puffs which are commonly made with Choux pastry dough and heavy cream. My recipe is a quick version that tastes simply delicious. These are not just perfect for Valentine's day or Galentine's but they can also be a decorative menu item for a tea party, brunch, or Mother's Day!

Author: Huma
Ingredients:
-
1 sheet puff pastry
-
2 oz cream cheese, softened
-
2 tbsp. maple syrup
-
9 pieces of heart-shaped cut strawberries or 2/3 cup diced strawberries
-
Heart-shaped cookie cutter, about 3-inch
-
Optional toppings: Heart sprinkles, drizzle of melted chocolate, or powdered sugar to sprinkle over after baking
'
Directions:
-
Thaw puff pastry according to package instructions. Store in refrigerator until it's time to use so it does not get too soft which can make it difficult to cut.
-
Preheat oven to 400 degrees while you prep the strawberries & cream pastries. Prepare the cream cheese by mixing 2 tbsp. of maple syrup into the cream cheese.
-
Lay the puff pastry sheet on the baking tray and cut the pastry into heart shapes using the heart cookie cutter. Remove excess pastry sheet to reveal the heart shape pieces.
-
Add 1 tsp. of cream cheese to the center of each heart. Slight spread outward without covering the edges. Then, add strawberries over the cream cheese layer. Add sprinkles if desired.
-
Bake for about 15 minutes or until slightly golden and puffed up. Drizzle over your melted chocolate or dust over powdered sugar once they cool a bit, if desired.
-
Best served fresh or the day they are prepared.
Recipe Notes:
