Spicy Salsa
(Air Fryer Recipe)

IMG_1453.jpg

This spicy restaurant style salsa doesn't have to be just enjoyed with tortilla chips. You can drizzle it onto your nourish bowl, grilled fish, or even on your breakfast eggs. Salsa can be a delicious way to enjoy a dose of veggies in your day. I always love roasting veggies to make salsa or chutneys since it brings out even more flavor. This air fryer recipe is an easy way to get that roasted salsa flavor in just a few minutes. All you do is toss jalapenos, tomatoes, garlic and other veggies into an air fryer then blend away with spices and lemon juice to create a flavorful salsa. Check out the easy recipe below!

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: about 15 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

Author: Huma Naz

Ingredients

  • 1 jalapeno

  • 1 Roma tomato

  • 1 small onion, cut in half

  • 3 small bell peppers

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1/2 lemon

  • 1/2 cup cilantro

  • cooking spray oil ( I used avocado oil)

  • spices of your choice (I used salt, pepper, cumin seed)

Directions

  1. Wash and dry produce. Spread produce out in air fryer basket and lightly coat them with spray oil.

  2. Air fry for 370°F for 15 minutes or until they start to turn golden brown and blister.  Check produce in between time to make sure they do not burn.

  3. After they air fry, toss into a blender with water, lemon juice, cilantro, and spices.

  4. Enjoy with baked tortilla chips, tacos, or any other food of your choice!

Recipe Notes:

  • You can store salsa in your refrigerator for 5-7 days.  You can also freeze salsa for a couple months.

  • You can also use these air fried veggies to make soups, chutneys, and more!
