Hosting A Burgers & Boba Lunch

Here's a fun idea for your next get-together- A Burgers & Boba Lunch!

What's a better duo than burgers & boba? A build your own burger bar complete with different patties, condiments, and sides for your gets to choose from along with a refreshing boba drink cart for them to enjoy! This theme is fun because you can get so creative with the menu depending on your guests preferences and you can easily adjust the menu to be big or small depending on your guest count.

Table Decor

My idea was to create a burger & bubble tea cafe vibe for this girls lunch. When I think of cafe decor, the first thing that comes to mind are chalkboard menus. So, I incorporated three chalkboard elements into the table spread:

  • 1 large chalkboard sign listing some fun Build Your Own Burger Bar steps

  • A mini chalkboard sign with a "House Favorite" burger recommendation.

  • A chalkboard table runner. (linked here!)

The "House Favorite" burger can be a personalized creation that reflects your unique tastes. I shared my favorite zinger fry burger, featuring a sesame bun with a crispy chicken patty, creamy coleslaw, fresh salad greens, a handful of fries stuffed into the burger, and topped with homemade zinger sauce.

To add a creative touch, I used a chalkboard table runner to label all the food options with a chalk marker. For the presentation, I opted for wooden bowls, boards, and platters, which beautifully complemented the chalkboard table decor and added a rustic charm to the setup.

Burger Menu

Knowing a little something about your guests' preferences can help you build the perfect customizable menu. I categorized my menu into three sections: Main burger ingredients, condiments/toppers, and sides.

Main Burger Ingredients Include choices like:

  • Patty options: coated chicken and lean beef patties (since none of my guests were vegetarians)

  • Buns: a variety to cater to preferences, allergies/intol(gluten-free etc.)

  • Classic toppings: cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onions

It's important to check if any guests are vegetarian or gluten-intolerant to cater to their needs.

Condiments & Toppers Popular options can include:

  • Pickles Jalapeños

  • Ketchup

  • Mayo

  • Spicy sauces

  • Coleslaw

Sides: I opted for a range of sides to complement the burgers:

  • Homemade mac & cheese

  • Garlic & herb fries

  • Kale house-salad

  • Garlic bread topped with a spicy meat sauce

For my group of up to 20 girls, I chose five sides, but you can easily adjust the variety and quantity based on your guest count. With these categories, you can create a delicious and personalized dining experience that caters to everyone's tastes and dietary requirements. Enjoy your burger and bubble tea cafe vibe!

Boba Drink Cart

I absolutely adore burger cafes that also serve bubble tea—burgers and boba are such a perfect pairing! For a recent girls' lunch, I decided to create a fun boba cart to complement our burger feast. Knowing my guests prefer fruity drinks over milk tea, I went with refreshing strawberry citrus and mango drinks, paired with passion fruit and strawberry popping boba pearls.

For those looking for variety, frozen fruit smoothies with popping boba pearls, or even brown sugar milk tea and matcha with tapioca pearls, are excellent options depending on your guests' preferences. To capture that cozy cafe vibe, I used 9oz bubble tea cups (linked here) and straws, adding cute cartoon stickers (linked here) for an extra touch of fun. I set everything up on my favorite wooden drink cart (linked here), complete with adorable mason jar drink dispensers (linked here).

The combination of burgers and boba created a delightful and charming atmosphere, making our girls' lunch both tasty and memorable.

Guest Favors

I always love giving my guests a little thank-you favor to show my appreciation for their time and company during our meals together. For this lunch, I wanted the favor to double as a fun activity to wrap up the event. I chose color-changing water tumblers (linked here) with bubble tea straw covers (linked here), perfect for adding a touch of personalization.

Each guest had the opportunity to decorate their tumbler with stickers and gems, making it a creative and memorable keepsake. This interactive activity not only provided a delightful way to end the lunch but also left my guests with a unique, personalized gift to take home.
